The rat in the hat by Stevie, age 9
Rat short Story The Circus Rat by Krisanna, age 13 Once upon a time, there was a rat named Bob. Bob worked as a clown in the Rat Circus that came through Rat town once a year. Rat town was located under ground in the city of Seattle. It was a huge town with millions of rats living there. One day, Bob was walking down SE Cheese street toward the circus when he heard a rat crying. He followed the sound and it led him to a small, white, girl rat. She had her paws over her face and little tears were spilling out of her eyes. "What's wrong?" Bob asked, sitting down next to the little girl, recognizing her as the daughter of his friend, Joe. " My mother - sob- said that I couldn't -sob- go to the rat circus this year -sob-because she doesn't have enough money", the little girl replied, remembering meeting the clown when he came to visit their home last year. "Oh dear, " said Bob. Suddenly, he had an idea. "You can come with me if you would like!" he said. The little rat looked up. "Really?", she asked, a twinkle coming into her eyes. "Sure!", Bob replied, happy that she was starting to feel better. "Oh, thank you!" the rattie cried, standing up to hug Bob with both front paws. "You're very welcome!" So, off they went toward the circus and they had a wonderful time together the whole day. THE END
