3 GIRLS RATTERY The 3 Girls Rattery is located in Mercer Island, Washington, just outside of Seattle. OUR STORY 3 Girls Rattery all started with a one-eyed, fawn rat named Petey. One day, Petey met Bailey, an amber doe. They fell in love and soon had 14 babies. This was back in the Fall of 2001. The 3 girls, having never bred rats before, assumed the babies would be beige like the parents. All 14 were agouti (brownish) with black eyes. The girls were puzzled and became curious about rat genetics. Well, one thing led to another, and they began to breed, show, and share their love of rats with others. That is the story of how the 3 Girls Rattery began. On this website, the girls will give you an opportunity to share in their journey. We have 20 cages in our rattery. Most of the rats stay in the "ratroom" which is also an office. Some stay downstairs. The rats are exercised regularly. They are fed rat blocks in the morning and rat food and "special" food (people food) in the evening. They are all loved very much.
